Johann Clapson began his pre-professional training in 1996 at Académie Princesse Grace
in Monaco under the supervision of Marika Besobrasova.
He continued his career with
Roland Petit by enrolling into Ecole Nationale de danse in Marseilles, 1997. Vivi Flint
obtained for him a scholarship from 1998 to 2001 at the Royal Danish Ballet School in
Copenhagen.
He perfected his training by adding other disciplines with Alexandra Clément and JeanGérald
Dorseuil at Studio Danse Passion in Hyères, South of France.
Next, he enrolled into Ecole-Atelier Rudra Béjart in 2004 where Maurice Béjart created for
him key roles in the performances “Voilà l’homme” and “Les Carnets de Tchekov”.
In 2006, he joined Béjart Ballet in Lausanne, where he performs major roles like
“Dionysos”, “Soldat amoureux”, “Marteau sans maître” etc.…
In 2010, he decided to increase his artistic talents and thus participated in the creation of
the company Opinion Public where he performs all the dances in the repertory.
In addition to his role as performer, he created, together with Etienne Béchard “Post
Anima” at the Konzert Theater in Bern and actively participated in the creation and
performance of “Cupidon s’en fout...” for Opéra National du Ballet in Rhin as an assistant
choreographer and dancer, in 2016. He also participated in the choreographic association
Opinion Public for the creative works “Mr Follower” (2015), “Arcadia” (2017) and
“Aeterna” (2018).
